父亲节由来

 

父亲节起源于美国，约始于二十世纪初，由美国人布鲁斯·多德夫人倡导建立。

 

多德夫人早年丧母，她的父亲独自一人拉扯大6个孩子，每天起早贪黑，无微不至地关心着孩子们的成长，既当父亲又当母亲。

 

多德夫人是家中唯一的女孩，她更能切身体会到父亲深厚的关爱，并且那份爱并不亚于任何一位母亲，她认为父亲也应该有一个自己的节日。

 

1909年，在父亲辞世之年，多德夫人写信给州长表达了自己的想法。此后，每年的6月第三个星期日就成了为父亲欢庆的节日。
